FAQ about Lash Extensions

What Is It Like?

The procedure requires the client to keep their eyes closed for 1.5 -2 hours .

It is painless and you will barely feel a thing. Many clients think this is a perfect time to catch up on beauty sleep or meditation :)

1) After you get comfortable on the lash bed (that looks like a massage table), the lash artist will clean your eyes and remove any dirt/oil/left over makeup.

2) They will then gently tape down your lower lashes and use an under eyepad for protection

3) The rest of the procedure will require you to have your eyes closed (for up to 2 hours)

The lash artist will apply a primer and then start to individually apply lash extensions to each single lash of yours. It is a tedious procedure so the less chatting the better. All facial movements can move your lashes even when your eyes are closed. Also, caffiene can cause jitters/eye twitches so its best to avoid before your appt. It also makes you need to pee which will take away from your lash time resulting in less lashes for you :)

4) Once all lashes have been applied (about 200 depending on how many natural lashes you have), your lash artist will remove the tape and eyepads as well as make sure none of the lower lashes got stuck during the process. Sometimes with facial movement, a few of the baby lashes will untuck from the tape. No worries though, they will gently separate them and you're good to go!

What Does The Client Need To Do To Prep

Please arrive with clean lashes, completely makeup free (for best rentention it is best to avoid wearing makeup 24-48 hours prior to appt.)   Arriving with makeup on requires me to remove all traces around the eye which can be pretty tedius and takes away from your lashing time.

Please have your phone on silent to avoid distractions and ensure the fastest/safest lashing experience. Your apt will be between 1-2 hours so please book accordingly.  Perfection takes time : )

How Long Do Extensions Last? All human hairs go through 3 stages during their growth cycle.   Please see my previous blog for a full description of each stage but in a nutshell, a natural eyelash takes about 8 weeks before they fall out from start to finish.

Keep in mind we only lash `teenager` and ``adult` lashes for the safety and health of your lashes.

Most will already be adult lashes when we apply an extension to it so it will have much less time before falling out naturaly.

This is why a client will most likely feel that they need an infill of extensions after 2-3 weeks.

Man of their natural lashes were at the end of their cycle and have fallen out with new ones growing in their place that need to be lashed.

Everyone loses apprx 3-5 natural lashes every day. It doesnt seem noticeable until you`re paying for them though :)
